Gears contains information about the BuildCraft mod.

Gears are a simple item in the Buildcraft mod. Gears serve no purpose except to build machines, automatic crafting tables, and the Buildcraft wrench. Gears are constructed sequentially (you need one of the previous tier gear to create the next tier one). There are 5 types of gears in the Technic Pack.

Wooden Gears are used to craft the first tier of Buildcraft Items: namely, the Automatic Crafting Table, the Stone Gear and the Redstone Engine. Its EMC value is 16.

Stone Gears are implemented in the crafting of the Wrench and the Steam Engine, as well as the Iron Gear. Its EMC value is 20.
