Tin Cables (also Ultra-Low-Current Cable) work in the same way as copper cables in that they conduct electricity, but they can only tolerate up to 5 EU per packet. They are, however, very cheap to make have extremely low levels of energy loss(1 EU loss per 40 blocks). This makes them the ideal cable for solar flowers, since each produce a current equal to 1 EU/t.

This wire cannot be insulated, so it cannot be painted, and is also prone to electrocuting nearby objects. As such, precautions need to be taken to avoid coming into contact with it. Generally, the only thing that can electrocute a nearby object is a wind generator when it is raining, since then the EU packets are large enough to leak out, but still small enough to avoid an explosion.

Tin Cables are recommended for a player just starting to install Solar Panels, even moreso than copper. Each individual panel is only capable of 1 EU/t, allowing the player to connect up to five panels on one Tin Cable with barely any power loss. However, once the player starts to condense their solar panels down into Solar Arrays, it is strongly recommended to upgrade to Copper Cable or better at the earliest convenience.
