Logo-BC 40 Template contains information about the BuildCraft mod.

A Template is a means of recording information for a Builder to replicate at a later time. When a Template is first crafted, it appears as a 'Blank Template' (i.e. it has no information recorded on it) and must be printed in a Architect Table. A player may choose to name the Template, or leave the label field blank when writing a Template. If not, the Template's name will default to 'Template #n', where 'n' is the number of templates that have been printed so far on that Minecraft world.

A template can be overwritten on the Architect Table; doing so deletes the previously recorded template forever.

Templates vs. Blueprints[]

Templates will record the shape of an object, but not the specific blocks used in its construction. This is preferred for saving resources when a player is duplicating simple structures using a single type of resources. Blueprints are more advanced, recording both shape and materials used in the structure, and will cause the Builder to duplicate them in exact detail, so long as the resources are available for building.
