Better Dungeons is a mod created by Chocolatin that adds a variety of dungeons and structures and also several new NPCs to the game. This mod was removed recently and is no longer a part of the Technic pack, but is in the Yogbox.

Pirate Island Dungeon[]

One dungeon is the Pirate Island Dungeon. This dungeon spawns in Ocean Biomes as a large island, overgrown with large trees and vines. In one side of the island, there is a large cavern, which contains a wooden pirate ship as well as docks and tunnels going through the island, making it like a little Pirate settlement; though you cannot trade with the NPC's like Millenaires. The island is full of pirate mobs weilding weaponry and in full armor of the same metal/diamond. At the apex of the island, there is a red X, usually guarded by a pirate boss (who will throw potions at you in battle). Digging down in the center of this X will yield a special treasure.

Pirate Airships are filled with many Pirate mobs, plus a Pirate King boss. The airship is majorly made from Iron Blocks.

There may be larger versions of this airship, similarly holding the Pirate Mobs, and a Pirate King boss.

Pirate ships -

These hold Pirate mobs, and are built in similar fashion to traditional ships. They can hold Jail Cells, Enchantment Tables, chests of loot, and many other features. As they are filled with armored pirates, a good way to beat this structure would probably be burning the ship, which would kill the pirates and their items but leave the chests.

Egyptian Dungeons[]

The Egyptian dungeons can be found in Desert biomes.

Bossroom

The boss room without the boss. The water trough on the far side of the room.

The entrance is a Sphynx-like sandstone structure or small pyramid leading to a very large maze consisting of obsidian. Most likely to make the maze even harder to navigate due to its darkness, and to prevent the player from mining the walls to easily find the trapdoor. Inside the entrance is a short sandstone staircase into the entrance to the obsidian maze.

At the entrance, the maze splits into three different pathes, 1 leading to the trapdoor, the sides forming a loop around the forward path to eventually join up and head back to the entrance.

There are many chests scattered throughout all of the paths. Confirmed drops for these chests include: Gold Ingots, Iron Ingots, Cocoa Beans, Cookies, Torches, and Pig Saddles. Also scattered, (but much less common.) throughout the maze are monster spawners for skeletons and zombies. (Spiders require at least a 3x3 area to spawn).

At a random location in the frontal path is a closed trapdoor which leads to the boss room: a very spacious square room divided by a large Lava Pool 1 block deep throughout, with a water trough on the side. There is a boss on the other side of the lava pool. (It is meant to be Cerberus, Hades' pet dog.) It shoots balls of fire, which you must deflect, hitting him instead. Once you hit it enough times, the room fills up with lava, and a staircase of iron blocks opens up behind you that leads out of a dungeon,

Another way to get to the dungeon boss that is easier than going through the maze is to watch when there is an explosion underneath you. This explosion is the boss sensing you and firing it's fire balls at you. What you can do now is if you have a diamond pickaxe, you could mine underneath you to the boss. Be careful not to fall into the lava while you do that. Once you fall on the side with the boss and easily kill the boss in close-hand combat with a diamond sword. When the lava starts to drop you will need a bucket of water to turn the lava into obsidian so that you can get to the other side and to the exit. This method is very dangerous, but very quick; it took me only a minute to kill the boss this way.

The loot is at the top of the stairsin a Treasure Chest above an iron block, which usually will have about 60 Diamonds and about 4 Golden Apples. It is said that there is also another stairway that leads downwards from where the lava spawns. It has not been tested but the stairway leading down should be opposite to where the stairway leading up is. This stairway would only be reachable with a fire resistence potion, but the stairs are made out of diamond blocks and the loot is much greater. Again, this is only believed to be true. There is no proof of it's existence.

Bedrock Dungeons[]

(the above title is temporary and may not be the official naming of this type)

Bedrock Dungeons are located near bedrock. They are usually a vast cavern deep underground, lit with glowstone inset in the floor, walls, and uneven ceiling at intervals. The main attraction of this dungeon is the Giant Slime, which is around twice the size of regular vanilla slimes. 1 hit of a diamond sword causes this slime to split into 2 more slightly-smaller slimes, and 1 hit on either of them continues the multiplication cycle of the slimes. A good solution to defeat this boss would probably be sniping it from further away or placing lava that would burn them upon death, however this solution also burns the items they drop. Upon death or multiplication, they drop diamonds, iron ingots, gold ingots, coal, and of course, slime balls + exp.

Other structures[]

Castles -

There are many variations of these castles, one may be very simple, with village houses and a Bedrock wall surrounding it, while some can be huge Mega-Structures. There really is no way to explain this in a detailed manner.
